WHY IS BELGRADE A FAVORITE DESTINATION FOR CONGRESS TOURISM?

Our capital is one of the most promising cities for congress tourism, so it is increasingly on the top lists of the best congress cities in Europe. Considering that all branches of tourism in Belgrade are developing extremely fast, it is not surprising that congress tourism has started to progress at lightning speed.

It is already known that Belgrade is a fantastic city in many aspects, but what is it that makes it a great destination for congress tourism?

The construction of catering facilities in Belgrade has been on an upward trajectory for years, which is just one of the consequences of increasing interest from tourists from all over the world to visit the Serbian capital. There are a lot of those hotels and resorts in Belgrade that have several congress halls, with extraordinary capacities – both rooms and places in the hall.

Thus, tourists have a huge choice of places for organizing congresses and conferences in Belgrade, which is an important feature of the city when it comes to destinations that are recommended for congress tourism.

In addition to the hotel congress and conference halls, there are also congress centers in Belgrade, whose main purpose is to provide space for organizing large congresses, business and cultural events.

The most famous, and also the largest, congress center in Belgrade is definitely the Sava Center, in New Belgrade. This cult Belgrade place has a large hall with a capacity of 4,000 seats, but also 15 other conference halls of various sizes and capacities. The Belgrade Fair is another complex, which offers an excellent space for congress tourists in Belgrade. It consists of 14 halls of open exhibition space and accompanying facilities. It spreads over a huge area. The fair is a member of a large number of fair and tourist associations.

Kombank Arena is a multifunctional space with large capacities, ranging from 18,000 to 23,000 seats for the audience, depending on the need. It also has a conference center, VIP sectors consisting of 70 luxury lodges, as well as a modern press center.

Geographical location is another trump card of Belgrade as a destination for congress tourism. Given that Serbia is located in the central part of the Balkan Peninsula, at the crossroads of Eastern and Western Europe, and Belgrade, as its metropolis, lies at the confluence of the Danube and Sava, it can really be said that the white city is located in a prime geographical location.

The capital of Serbia is therefore suitable for the organization of international congresses, and the approach to the city from all sides is quite simple and generally well arranged. Although geographically it belongs to Southeast Europe, the city is close enough to the western part of Europe, from where, apart from the region, the largest number of congress tourists come.

When other Belgrade trumps are added to the excellent accommodation capacities, along with the top design of the congress hall and the excellent geographical location, in the form of a multitude of the most interesting contents – the result is a perfect city for congress tourism.

Congress tourism in Belgrade does not only mean time spent in conference and congress halls, because tourists always use their free time to get to know the city in which they are located.

Visiting and getting to know the sights of Belgrade is a favorite activity of congress tourists, and the city never leaves them indifferent. The most popular sights in Belgrade are: Kalemegdan Fortress and Knez Mihailova, as well as Republic Square, Temple of Saint Sava, Skadarlija, Nikola Tesla Museum, Aval Tower, Gardoš, as well as many other museums, lodgings, exhibition spaces, but also famous historical buildings.

Belgrade is a favorite destination of tourists because of the large number of cultural and entertainment events, which are constantly held there. From music festivals, through a huge number of art exhibitions, as well as unforgettable, world-famous night parties – Belgrade really has everything!

Judging by all the trump cards of our capital, there is no doubt that Belgrade is deservedly considered a favorite destination of congress tourists, and its journey on the charts will surely move upwards in the years ahead!
