New Joint Checkpoint Speeds Up Border Crossing
Preševo and Tabanovce introduce a system that will reduce waiting times for travelers heading to Greece

A unified control system will soon be implemented at the Preševo–Tabanovce border crossing, allowing for significantly faster border procedures. This system, known as “one stop,” means that passports and documents will be checked at a single point, instead of the current practice of separate checks by Serbia and North Macedonia.
Connected systems for more efficient traffic
Technical preparations for this model are in their final phase, and the authorities of both countries have launched trial operations. The electronic systems of the two border services are now interconnected, contributing to better coordination and shorter waiting times.

Perfect timing for a new solution at the border
The introduction of joint control comes at just the right moment—summer holiday season is in full swing, and queues at border crossings are already forming, especially on the Serbian side. The start of the school break has further increased the number of travelers, so the new system is expected to make trips to popular Greek resorts much easier and faster.
Official launch in a few days
After the current testing phase, the “one stop” system is expected to be officially introduced within a few days. Travelers will undergo just one joint procedure, helping to reduce delays and ease traffic on this busy route.
