Historic Achievement: Two Belgrade Pizzerias Ranked Among Europe’s Top 50
The prestigious "50 Top Pizza Europe 2026" guide has ranked two Belgrade pizzerias among Europe's elite, with one also receiving a special award for the Best Cocktail List in Europe

Did you know that 50 Top Pizza Europe 2026, the most prestigious international guide to pizzerias in Europe outside Italy, publishes an annual ranking of the continent’s best pizzerias? This year, two renowned Belgrade pizzerias earned a place on the list, marking a historic achievement for both Belgrade and Serbia in recognition of outstanding gastronomic excellence and the art of crafting authentic Italian pizza.
Where Can You Find Europe’s Best Pizza?
For the third consecutive year, the title of Europe’s best pizzeria outside Italy went to Napoli on the Road in London, owned by Italian master pizzaiolo Michele Pascarella. Second place was awarded to Madrid’s Baldoria, while IMperfetto from Puteaux, France, claimed third place.

The Top 10 also features pizzerias from Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Portugal and Austria, confirming that exceptional Neapolitan pizza is no longer found exclusively in Italy.
Outstanding Pizza, Cocktails and Atmosphere
Belgrade’s Pietra achieved an impressive 21st place, the highest ranking ever earned by a Serbian pizzeria since the country joined this prestigious competition. Another Belgrade favorite, Majstor i Margarita, once again demonstrated its consistency by securing 37th place, extending its long-standing presence among Europe’s finest pizzerias. While Majstor i Margarita has remained part of the European elite for years, Pietra has rapidly established itself as one of Serbia’s most successful gastronomic brands in just a few years of operation.

According to the expert judges, what distinguishes Belgrade’s best pizzerias is their commitment to authentic Neapolitan pizza-making traditions. Pietra was particularly praised for its soft, perfectly hydrated dough, short baking time, premium-quality ingredients, attentive service and welcoming atmosphere.
In addition to its outstanding ranking, Pietra also received the Best Cocktail List 2026 award, recognizing the finest cocktail program among Europe’s pizzerias. The award reflects today’s broader approach to judging restaurants, where the overall dining experience—including food, beverages, service and ambiance—is just as important as the pizza itself.
Skopje and Zagreb Also Shine on Europe's Gastronomic Map
The region also celebrated remarkable success, with Matto Napoletano from Skopje ranking 19th and Franko’s Pizza & Bar from Zagreb placing 20th. This means that three pizzerias from the former Yugoslav region ranked among the Top 21 pizzerias in Europe, highlighting the growing strength and international recognition of the region’s culinary scene.

50 Top Pizza – The World’s Leading Pizza Guide
50 Top Pizza is widely regarded as the world's most influential guide dedicated exclusively to pizzerias. Its anonymous inspectors evaluate far more than the taste of the pizza, assessing dough quality, ingredients, preparation techniques, service, wine and cocktail selection, interior design and the overall restaurant experience.
The highest-ranked European pizzerias automatically qualify for consideration in the 100 Best Pizzerias in the Worldranking, which will be announced this September in Naples.

This year’s results represent an important milestone for Serbian gastronomy and further strengthen Belgrade’s reputation as a destination where visitors can enjoy not only outstanding cuisine, but also world-class pizzerias that have become an integral part of the city’s tourism offering.
