SKIING IN SLOVENIA WILL COST MORE THIS YEAR

LJUBLJANA, November 23 – The daily ski pass at Slovenian ski resorts will be more expensive, maybe a euro or two, said the vice president of the Slovenian Cable Car Association, Jani Janša.

“We had a meeting in the Association where we discussed the price increase. The Minister of Infrastructure, Bojan Kumer, assured us that electricity prices will be controlled after January 1. If he keeps his word, the prices of ski tickets in our country will not increase drastically, maybe by a euro or two,” Janša told RTV Slovenia.

To the journalist’s remark that ski tickets are already significantly expensive, because a day ticket in Pohorje costs 43 euros, in Kranjska Gora and Vogla 40 euros, and in Krvavac and Rogla 39 euros, Janša replied that they did not rise in price everywhere and that the prices were increased due to growth expenses.

He said that all Slovenian ski resorts have already turned white, but that the snow cover is still thin.

Janša estimated that the ski resorts at higher altitudes will be opened at the beginning of December, if there is no snow, while the preparation of the lower ski resorts will start no later than the second weekend of December.
