Electronic toll collection expands to Greece and Croatia
Faster and easier travel for Serbian tourists

Electronic toll collection in Serbia is experiencing significant expansion. From the beginning of the summer season, the Serbian toll tag will be compatible with systems in Greece and Croatia. This innovation brings major benefits for travelers, reducing waiting times at toll booths.
Regional integration of toll collection systems
The Serbian electronic toll tag is already in use in North Macedonia and Montenegro, and full integration with Croatia is expected by the end of the year. This integration contributes to smoother and faster vehicle flow through regional transport corridors, setting new standards in the digitalization of transport infrastructure in Serbia.
More than 900,000 drivers are already using this system, with 105,000 active users. The majority use the tag for border crossings between Serbia and North Macedonia, while a smaller percentage is directed toward Montenegro. The inclusion of Greece and Croatia is expected to further increase the popularity and usefulness of this toll payment method.

Revenue growth and expansion of toll booth networks
Last year’s results showed record figures in toll collection, with more than 80 million transactions and revenues exceeding 420 million euros. The system’s efficiency is reflected in the high collection rate and the continuous expansion of toll station networks. Just in December last year, three new stations were opened, while four more are planned for this year, including two on the “Miloš Veliki” highway and several on the Morava corridor.
Advantages of electronic toll payment
-
Faster passage through toll stations – no need for cash payments, significantly reducing waiting time.
-
Greater coverage in the region – with new countries in the system, drivers can travel seamlessly with uninterrupted electronic toll collection.
-
Financial and practical benefits – easier trip cost planning without the need for additional cash funds.
-
Additional payment options – users can also use the toll tag to pay for parking at certain locations in Belgrade.
New opportunities for summer destinations
The introduction of Greece into the electronic toll system brings a special benefit for tourists traveling to popular destinations during the summer months. Significant congestion reductions at borders and toll booths are expected, contributing to a more comfortable and faster journey.
The digitalization and modernization of Serbia’s toll system continue to improve infrastructure and regional connectivity. The electronic toll tag is becoming an essential tool for more efficient movement across the Balkans, making travel simpler and more comfortable than ever before.
