MYSTIC CAVE THAT HIDES HUMAN FACES IN THE WALLS

On the Pešter field, in the immediate vicinity of Sjenica and the canyon of the river Uvac, there is the Ušački stream. There is also one of the longest caves in the entire territory of Serbia.

The length of the cave corridors is 6,185 meters, and for now it is 2,110 meters passable. The Ušačka cave system has two levels, ie two caves, namely Ušačka and Ledena pećina. There is also a pit, called Bezdana, which can be entered at the end of a valley called Miletin Do. There are also two entrances here. One is located right in the bed of the river Uvac, and the other in the area of the village of Gornje Lopiže.

Just as only nature can and knows how, so it played out here. Not only the locals, but also many experts believed that in addition to the Ušačka cave, there is another one, which they called Ledena. And none of them knew then that nature had mixed its fingers and connected the two caves and the pit.

The entire cave system is more than 6.2 kilometers long. It is characterized by corridors and canals, but also halls and numerous cave decorations.

We should definitely mention the pit, in which there are two canals. One of them leads directly to the Great Hall. The bottom of the pit itself is quite narrow and can be reached through a vertical channel, which is about 40 meters long. Further from the Great Hall, there is another canal under the slope, which is connected to the main passage through the entire cave.

The Ice Cave is about 2.5 kilometers long, and it is about 800 meters passable. Curious people can only approach it by boat, and it is considered one of the attractions of the entire Uvac Nature Reserve, as well as Sjenica Lake and the entire region of our country.

Extremely rich, but also unusual cave jewelry is one of the characteristics of this cave system. However, the most interesting end of the tour for visitors is the part called the Gorge. It is in this part of the Ušačka cave that the most impressive stalactites and stalagmites are located. And in that part, the cave system has the highest height, while at the same time it is considered that its width is the smallest.

However, that is not all that this cave is known for. In one part of the cave, nature played nicely. Thanks to the play of light and shadow, many visitors seem to notice human figures in a certain part of the cave.
