Caričin grad now offers permanent guide service

The National museum in Leskovac provides unforgettable experience through expert tours and new content

The archaeological site of Caričin Grad, also known as Justiniana Prima, now offers a permanent guide service available to visitors from Wednesday to Sunday, between 9 AM and 5 PM. Group tours are organized on weekdays starting at 2 PM, while on Saturdays and Sundays, tours are available at 11 AM and 3 PM.

Ticket prices and benefits for visitors

The ticket price for adults is 250 dinars, while for students, pupils, and pensioners, the ticket costs 150 dinars. A family ticket for three to six members costs 300 dinars. Individual tours for one to nine people are priced at 1,000 dinars.

Children up to seven years old, persons with disabilities and their companions, as well as war veterans with a veterans’ ID, have free entry. Additionally, students and pupils with a youth card from Leskovac can visit the site for free.

For groups of at least 10 visitors, free tours can be arranged outside the specified times with a valid ticket. Individual tours can also be booked for an additional fee.

Historical significance of Caričin grad

Caričin grad is located in southeastern Serbia, on the gentle slopes of mount Radan, between Leskovac and Lebane. It was founded by emperor Justinian I in the 6th century as his birthplace, Justiniana Prima.

This archaeological site includes the remains of a large Byzantine city, including impressive churches, public buildings, and mighty city walls.
