BEST NEWS: TOURISM FAIR WILL BE HELD FROM APRIL 8 TO 11
Although the original idea was to hold this year’s tourism fair at a well-known date, in the period around February 20, due to the epidemiological situation, it was decided that the fair would be moved to the first half of April.
The Belgrade Fair has made a decision to postpone the 43rd International Tourism Fair and the 17th International HORECA Equipment Fair, due to the impossibility of professional and efficient organization of this event in the planned time. The new date for holding the event is from April 8 to 11, 2021. This decision was made due to the impossibility of adequate planning of such a complex and extensive fair in the conditions of uncertain status of the covid-19 pandemic, introduced epidemiological measures and restrictions with uncertain duration. As the organizer of the largest fair in the field of tourism in the region, we will try to, by improving the quality of events, remain a good and reliable partner so that we can all together make an adequate contribution to the recovery of the tourism and hospitality industry. – Dragan Zečević, project coordinator, stated for the Telegraf.rs portal.
At the Belgrade Tourism Fair, a country is chosen every year, which is a kind of host. During last year’s Fair, it was Egypt. Tourist organizations of cities in Serbia, then numerous countries, and certainly travel agencies also took part.
However, although the date of this year’s event has been postponed, the organizers have their hands full. The desire is to focus on business contacts, recover old contacts and build new ones. The topic he will deal with is the impact of the global health pandemic on the tourism industry.
At the moment, the interest of participants in the Tourism Fair in our capital is at a satisfactory level. In addition to tourist organizations from different parts of Serbia, foreign exhibitors from Russia, Slovenia, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries are also applying.
Although there are currently fewer registered travel agencies due to the overall situation, the organizers still hope that the fair will be successfully organized, if the appropriate conditions for its holding are met.
