GUINNESS RECORD BROKEN ON ZLATIBOR: THE LONGEST PANORAMIC GONDOLA IN THE WORLD LAUNCHED

Despite the large amounts of snow that fell during the previous weekend, but also the extremely low night temperatures that made it difficult to start the installation, the longest panoramic gondola was put into operation yesterday afternoon. From the center of Zlatibor, the Tornik complex can be reached by a nine-kilometer-long route above meadows, forests and lakes.

The Zlatibor gondola, the largest and most expensive investment of the Municipality of Cajetina ever, was successfully put into operation. With the recognizable sound of a siren, the cables started lowering the first cabins from the intermediate station, ready to receive passengers who had been patiently waiting in line since the early morning hours to grab their piece of Zlatibor’s history.

Immediately after receiving the passengers and leaving the starting station, the gondola cabin accelerates by driving passengers towards the Tornik Hotel, providing passengers with a panoramic view of the entire resort.

Grabbing the route to the intermediate station, passengers will enjoy the beautiful landscape of Ribnica Lake in winter, and then comes the last, steepest stage of the road, climbing to the very top of Tornik and passing through a foggy winter veil and icy pines along the entire route.

Zlatibor, in addition to the local one, is writing another far more important page of history. As of today, it will be written in the Guinness Book of Records that the Gold Gondola Zlatibor is currently the longest panoramic gondola in the world, removing the Chinese gondola “Tianmen Shun” from the throne, exceeding its route by as much as 1.6 km. This fact, in addition to the enthronement of Zlatibor on the tourist map of Europe, will greatly contribute to the affirmation of the whole of Serbia and its overall tourist potential.

The Gold Gondola has 55 cabins and its capacity is 600 passengers per hour. Working hours are from 8.30 to 15.00. Children under the age of six will not be charged a ticket, the price for children is 550 dinars, and for adults 1,000 dinars.
