Zlatibor in the spotlight of young athletes: “Školarijada” approaching
The region's largest school sports event to take place from April 4 to 14

In the heart of Serbia, Zlatibor will become the host of one of the most significant sports events for young athletes in April – the World School Sports Games, known as “Školarijada.” This event will bring together more than 4,000 young athletes and their teachers from 55 countries. They will compete in over 20 sports, including three parasports.
Preparations in full swing
The municipality of Čajetina has put great effort into ensuring flawless organization for this event. Local tourism professionals see “Školarijada” as a unique opportunity to further promote Zlatibor as both a sports and tourist destination.
Vladimir Živanović, director of the Zlatibor Tourist Organization, emphasizes that this event will further strengthen Zlatibor’s reputation as a center for sports tourism. He highlights that participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty and modern sports facilities, enriching their competitive experience.

Significance for Zlatibor’s future
According to Nikola Novaković, director of the “Zlatibor” Tourism and Recreation Complex, this sports event represents an important step in positioning Zlatibor on the international sports map. It is expected that all participants will become ambassadors of this mountain in their home countries. Which will contribute to attracting new generations of tourists and athletes.
Top-level organization
“Školarijada” is organized by the Serbian School Sports Federation. Also with the support of the Government of the Republic of Serbia through the Ministry of sports, in collaboration with the International School Sport Federation (ISF) and the municipality of Čajetina.
With this event, Zlatibor will reaffirm its reputation as a top sports destination, offering participants not only excellent competition conditions. But also the chance to experience the region’s rich culture, traditions, and gastronomy.
