SERBIAN VILLAGES – A UNIQUE TOURIST EXPERIENCE
Rural tourism has been very popular in the last ten years and there are more and more people who decide to spend their vacation in a rural household. There are currently more than 1,500 registered households in Serbia that regularly receive visitors, and there is a large number of foreign tourists who get to know the beauties of our country in this way. Our guests most often come from Israel, China, Austria, Romania and France, and they are most attracted by our untouched nature and traditional dishes.
If you have decided to spend your vacation in Serbia this year, here are a few Serbian villages known for ethno tourism and interesting contents.
Gostilje and Dobroselice
Spring and summer are ideal for visiting the beautiful villages of Zlatibor, and among them the most famous are: Gostilje and Dobroselice. In Gostilj, there is a famous waterfall in a hidden forest, where water falls from a 20-meter high cliff. It can be reached by a narrow path, so in addition to the beautiful view of the waterfall, tourists can also enjoy the beautiful forest that surrounds it. After visiting the waterfall, be sure to stop in Dobroselice, which is considered the most beautiful village in Zlatibor with spacious pastures and village wooden houses. Due to its beauty, this village was a frequent choice for Serbian directors, so shots for films were shot here: “Life is a Miracle”, “Black Bomber”, “Radio Vihor is calling Andjelija”, “Original forgery”.
Kremna
Thanks to its climate, location and ideal altitude, the village of Kremna has been a very popular destination within rural tourism in recent years. Since the beginning of the 20th century, this village is also known as the “air spa” where visitors enjoy healthy air and delicious home-made food. Kremna, which is also known for the famous prophecy of Tarabić, is located between Zlatibor and Tara, so it is great for accommodation for travelers who go on a tour of these two mountains. The village is only ten kilometers away from the popular Sharganska osmica and Drvengrad, and that is the same distance from the Tara National Park. In addition to the natural beauties of this village, you will enjoy the exceptional hospitality of its hosts as well as the organic food that most produce in their own household.
Srndalje
The ethno village Srndalje is located two kilometers from Ribarska Banja and there are fifteen rural households and four restaurants. This village is characterized by unpolluted nature and a river rich in trout that the hosts serve to their guests. The main attractions of Srndalja are the mill and ponds where up to 20 tons of fish are produced annually. The hosts produce their own food, so you can try but also buy homemade juices, jams, cheeses. Also, authentic souvenirs and woolen handicrafts can be bought on the small stalls located in the village. If you are not a fan of a long walk from Srndalja to Ribarska Banja, you can also get a car that transports guests on this route every day.
Hajdukovo
Hajdukovo is located near Subotica and staying in this village is a real historical experience. Tourists stay in authentic authentic farmsteads where traditional Vojvodina dishes are served. On one of the farms there is a museum of old agricultural machines that were once used in the plain, so visitors can see old ox carts, roller skates, paprika and other agricultural machinery that was once used. After visiting the museum, visitors can visit the reconstructed dugouts in which the inhabitants of Vojvodina once lived. The dugouts were dug into the ground by the ancestors in order to protect themselves from strong winds in winter and high temperatures during the summer.
Lopatnica
If you plan to visit the monasteries of Žiča and Studenica, visit the medieval town of Maglič, and along the way stop by Vrnjačka, Mataruška or Jošanička Banja, then stay in the village of Lopatnice. This village is located near all these tourist attractions and after visiting them you can relax in untouched nature and enjoy the clear rivers and streams that adorn it. Lopatnica is located between the mountains Troglav, Čemerno, Željin and Stolovi in an area known for its healing mineral springs and which attracts a large number of tourists every year. Lopatnica is also known for various contents, so tourists can fish, walk on mountain and forest trails, ride horses, but also try paragliding and rafting on the Ibar.
